Two good versions of Dark Star, one good Morning Dew and one transcendent Morning Dew.The 9/11/73 Dew is played with great depth and emotion, while a little shaky through to the first jam,at about 5 minutes the contrast between Jerry's rippling guitar lines,Phil's aggressive ,pummeling bass and Billy's just right accent drumming set this one on a path for a great finish.Following the first verse and slow build up at about 9:45 Jerry starts to cook and Keith finally surfaces and a trio forms Jerry on one end,Phil on the other,Keith in the middle,as they play off one another the intensity builds at 11:45 Jerry is playing fully formed fan runs, while Keith stabs madman style and Phil just annihilates the gym with throbbing full throttle bass, into the end vocal.A remarkable version. This is a fine example of why Keith was the best pianist/keyboardist the band ever had,a true sense of what was needed, how much and when.
